We’ve had a few inquiries recently from homebuyers who have found their ideal property but are hesitating to put in an offer because the property has uPVC windows and they want to replace them with timber and are wondering if they can afford to buy the house and replace the windows too. Here’s an example based on a recent inquiry.
How much will it cost to replace the windows in the 2-bed Victorian house?
This typical Victorian Villa in North Kingston has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, a sitting room with a bay window and a dining room and kitchen downstairs. The prospective owners contacted us to ask for a quote for replacing the bay window, the three upstairs windows in the bedrooms and the bathroom window. The property had uPVC windows throughout and they wanted to restore the traditional external appearance of the house by replacing them with timber windows appropriate for the style and age of the property. The new owners were planning to do some refurbishments to the kitchen and dining rooms, so these were not included. The quote for the new timber sliding sash windows came in at a fraction
over £10,000 – including VAT and fitting costs, which was a pleasant surprise for them as they had already received quotes that were around £14,000 to £17,000.
So How does Sashed manage to offer much lower prices?
Our prices are lower because we use Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines and factory assembly techniques, used by mass furniture manufacturers, to make our windows. This means we can make windows considerably cheaper compared to traditionally hand-crafted windows. All our windows and doors are bespoke and made to order and we pride ourselves on being fast and responsive to all our customers’ needs. We’ve also cut down costs as we don’t have salespeople on commission, we don’t have expensive showrooms and we’ve reduced overheads and waste, to enable us to pass on these savings to you. Our customers love our products because of the great price and the immaculate finish we give all our products by spray painting them in the factory. Why not contact us for a quote today
