New Sash windows and doors in Chiswick Garden Flat

I have no hesitation in recommending Sashed Ltd. The quality of the windows and door is superb and my home is so much warmer and quieter. The neighbours have also commented on how good they look! The issue – cold and draughty single glazed windows

Diana wanted to improve the insulation and security of her home by replacing her old single glazed sash windows with new double glazed units, without compromising the original features. She also wanted to replace the front door with one that had some glazed panels and could accommodate a cat flap, while improving security.

The challenge – preserving the original shutters

Diana’s original sash windows had bespoke shutters fitted around them that she wanted to retain. Sashed was able to do this and fitted new architrave around them so that it looked like it has been made for them.

The solution – new timber sash windows and a new front door from Sashed

In all four sash windows and one casement window were replaced with new double glazed sash windows in finger-jointed pine. The front door was also replaced with a new wooden door, also in finger-jointed pine and finished in dual colours: white on the inside and Farrow and Ball ‘Brassica’, on the outside. The door included a factory fitted cat flap, Yale deadlock and maximum security night latch and a Victorian style letterbox.

The result – a warmer, quieter home and more secure home

• The Sashed team carried out a survey of the property, in order to get a clear idea of what work needed to be done.
